Eleven bronze busts stand along the walkway into the Culinary Arts Building at Napa Valley College’s St. Helena campus, each on its own concrete column set in the lawn outside the entrance. They went up in 2014. Narsai David, Julia Child, Jacques Pépin, Jeremiah Tower, Alice Waters and Robert Mondavi are among them — chefs, a broadcaster, a winemaker, the people who turned California cooking into the New Cuisine over the course of the 1970s.
